Knoll International was founded in America at the beginning of the 1940s by Florence and Hans Knoll, son of the German furniture manufacturer Walter Knoll. The design language is characterized by classic modernism. The combination of design excellence, technological innovation and mass production à la Bauhaus was to be applied to furniture production. Designs by Mies van der Rohe, Eero Saarinen, Harry Bertoia and Marcel Breuer in particular are considered design classics today and paved the way for the company's global success. The brand has been honored with the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award and the Good Design Award, among others. Knoll International offers furniture for offices, conference rooms, outdoor areas and all living areas.
