Founded in 1853 by Carl Bechstein as a one-man manufactory in Berlin, the C. Bechstein Pianofortefabrik advanced to become a purveyor to the court of King Frederick William IV of Prussia with an international reputation. Today, most of the pianos are manufactured in the master workshop in Seifhennersdorf in Saxony. Here, C. Bechstein relies on traditional craftsmanship - supported by state-of-the-art production technology. The result is grand and upright pianos in a class of their own for beginners, advanced players and professionals and for (almost) every budget. Famous composers such as Richard Wagner, Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt and Claude Debussy fell in love with the unmistakably clear sound, and contemporary musicians such as Kit Armstrong, the Beatles, Supertramp, Elton John and David Bowie have also chosen C. Bechstein instruments for their works.
