There will be two more "Bechstein Young Professionals" in 2024:
November 21, 2024, 7:30 pm: Sayaka Yamashita
The Japanese pianist Sayaka Yamashita will perform works by the composers Toru Takemitsu, Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann on November 21, 2024 at 7:30 pm.
Sayaka Yamashita was born in Osaka, Japan, in 1995. She began piano lessons at the age of five. In 2014, she began her studies at Kyoto University of the Arts in the class of Professor Makoto Ueno. In 2018, she completed her artistic education in the Bachelor's program. Since 2019 she has been studying at the Berlin University of the Arts in the Master's program with Professor Mi-Joo Lee. She has won prizes at national and international competitions, including the Diapason d'Oro Competition, Paolo Barasso Competition, Euterpe Competition, Arte Piano Competition and WPTA Italy IPC 2024. During her studies, she was a scholarship holder of Clavarte, the Paul Hindemith Society and the Japan Institute of Art.

December 12, 2024, 7:30 pm: Dongfang Li
On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the young pianist Dongfang Li will present works by Beethoven, Chopin, Messiaen and Smyth at 7:30 pm at the C. Bechstein Centrum Berlin.
Dongfang Li, born in Sichuan/China in 2003, has been passionate about playing the piano since the age of three. Initially trained by his parents, he became a junior student at the Sichuan Conservatory with Prof. Yang Yang at the age of six. Even during his early youth, a musical path in life became apparent. After winning several prizes at national competitions, he was awarded first prize at the international "Pietro Argento" competition in Italy; this was followed by numerous concerts in Italy, France, China and Korea.
Dongfang Li has been studying at the HfM Hanns Eisler in the class of Prof. Konrad Maria Engel since 2020. During his studies, he won the 1st prize at the Galaxy International Piano Competition in China and has organized piano concerts with the Liangshan Symphony Orchestra in his hometown several times, including the performance of Chopin and Prokofiev piano concertos. He is also constantly expanding his performance experience.
