The Danish design company Stelton was founded in 1960 by Niels Stellan Høm and Carton Madelaire, the name is based on the combination of their first names. The collaboration and later takeover of Dansk Rustfrit led to the company's positioning as a supplier of stainless steel products at the highest level. In 1964, Peter Holmblad, the new managing director, recruited his stepfather Arne Jacobsen for the new collection. After his death, the young designer Erik Magnussen designed a cylindrical vacuum jug, which has been the brand's bestseller since 1977. Other products such as serving and bar tools, cheese cutters and wine coolers complete the range. After the sale of the company in 2004, the Stelton brand was repositioned as a lifestyle brand for good design and received awards such as the reddot Award and the iF Product Design Award. The legendary bread bag by Danish designer Klaus Rath became the new highlight. This was followed by the collaboration with the Danish designer duo Sebastian Holmbäck and Ulrik Nordentoft as well as the collaboration with Prince Carl Philipp Bernadotte of Sweden and Oscar Kylberg. Today, Stelton is one of the major Scandinavian design brands. The products are exhibited in renowned museums such as the MoMA and the British Museum.
