During production, however, emphasis is placed on family-run workshops that weave the rugs by hand in Nepal, India, Thailand or Turkey according to centuries-old tradition. The brand stands for the highest quality of wool, color and workmanship. Designer and founder Jan Kath grew up with a passion for carpets. Coming from a third-generation family of carpet dealers, this important cultural asset was part of his everyday life from an early age. He was born in Bochum in 1972 and, despite international production, still holds on to the industrial aesthetics of the Ruhr region. This also inspires Jan Kath, whose carpets have won numerous prizes such as the Red Dot Design Award and the Carpet Design Award with their successful, unusual design. They have also been exhibited in museums, including the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt.
