In 1925, engineers Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen founded the successful company of the same name, Bang & Olufsen, in a small town in Denmark. It is known worldwide for its distinctive range of high-end products for home entertainment, such as TV sets, audio systems and telephones, and their outstanding sound and picture quality. Since the 1950s, the brand has also been famous for its outstanding design, which is particularly due to its collaboration with international product designers such as Cecilie Manz, Torsten Valeur, André Poulheim and Øivind Alexander Slaatto. This has paid off: the Danish brand has already won well over 100 design awards, including the reddot Design Award for the BeoSound Essence and the BeoPlay V1 TV.
